In loving memory of Archibald MacKinnon who sadly passed away on 14th June 2021. Funeral mass at St James the Great RC Church, Beltrees Road on Tuesday 29th June at 10am, there after to St Convals Cemetery arriving approximately 11.15am

Archie was born in Govan, Glasgow on 26 September 1936 and was a proud Govanite. He was the eldest of 6 siblings all of whom loved him dearly. Archie had a happy childhood, living through World War 2 which he enjoyed telling stories about. He attended St Constantine's primary school before moving on to St Gerards.

Archie left St Gerard's Secondary School and took up a joinery apprenticeship which he completed and went on to enjoy a long career in. At the age of 50 he returned to full time education to complete his City and Guilds qualification at Glasgow College of Building which allowed him to take up a post as a Clerk of Works with West of Scotland Housing Association.

Archie was a skilled footballer and was signed by Troon Juniors as a young man which he enjoyed. After he stopped playing he continued his passion for football by following local and national teams.

Archie met Brenda his first wife in 1960 and they had four children; Paul, Marie, Lesley-Anne and Ian. Sadly Brenda passed away in 1988. Archie and Brenda have eight grandchildren. Brenda only got to meet one of them before her passing. Archie later went on to marry Betty in 1993, who had a daughter and two grandchildren.

Archie was a sociable man who enjoyed spending time with his family and out with friends. He was a big Sinatra fan and would love giving his own rendition of Sinatra songs at parties or social events. A lot of his time when he retired was spent in Crookston Bowling Club where he had a passion for both playing bowls and having a pint with the other members.

Archie lived a long and happy life and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
