Maria Ireland (15 May 1939 - 24 Apr 2021)

In loving memory of Maria Ireland who sadly passed away on 24th April 2021.
Maria was a dearly loved gentle lady who will be very sadly missed by all her family and friends.
I would like to ask all my friends who knew mum to raise a glass and donate to an amazing cause that helped improve mum’s quality of life every week. Mum attended Cantley Smile who cares daily for many adults with mental or physical disabilities, this amazing day care centre would encourage painting, dancing shopping for lunch, singing and many endless activities all delivered with love, care and understanding. Each member of staff would support carers through difficult personal times, giving respite and understanding to loved ones to enjoy some normality knowing their loved one was usually having the time of their life in a loving safe environment ❤️I would like to thank all the staff on behalf of our family for every moment you shared with her and during COVID to Julie who usually spent one to one time with mum ensuring her safety throughout, even when the centre was closed in the first lockdown, then activity packs with crayons and books would be dropped at the door, a smile, a wave to remind us of the love still in this world.... thank you each and everyone at Cantley Smile you gave Dad purpose and you gave Mum so many memories that will never be forgotten.❤️❤️❤️
