Michael Feather (29 Mar 1957 - 14 Apr 2021)

We have known Michael for many years. He was a lovely family man and a fantastic friend. We have lots of happy memories of family weekends away and bank holiday walks and even camping trips! Future lads holidays will never be the same without him but I'm sure he'll be looking down as we drink a beer or two in his memory. Looking forward to celebrating his life at his memorial service on Saturday. Rest in peace our good friend Michael. Love from Linda and Ian.❤️

The memorial for our dad, Michael Feather, has been organised for Saturday 3rd July at 11am at St Helen’s Church in Sheriff Hutton (YO60 6AA) followed by a drink at The Castle pub in Sheriff Hutton to celebrate his life. We’re obviously awaiting the announcement of the next government guidelines on the 21st June, but hoping that we can have as many people there as possible. We’ll be in touch if there are any restrictions we need to stick to once they are announced. Please pass this on to anyone who you think would like to attend. Angela, Craig, Kris and the rest of the family.

The Shutt family have fond memories of Mick and his family. I remember the time he came to look at house with me in York many years ago and gave me advice on what needed doing to it. He was a kind and generous man who will be missed. Love to the family x

Very upset to hear of Michael's passing. We knew Michael, Angela, Ernest, Craig and Kris when they lived in Sherburn in Elmet and ran the local shop. We remember Michael being a lovely kind, genuine and much respected man who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with Angela, the boys and their families.

Michael was a top man,and we set up a Thornton Grammer School reunion group which met the first Friday in December each year he was a regular attender ,and loved the catch up with his old mates .The night entailed a few beers,loads of banter and always finished with a curry .He will be greatly missed by everybody ,and has left us far too soon.Condolences to Angela and family he was a good un.Gilly

I will remember Michael always, for his loving, friendly kind and humorous spirit. He lit up a room with his smile and laughter.
Michael and Angela let me stay with them whilst I was doing work experience in a hotel in York and whilst there they asked me to sing at their 25th wedding anniversary which was so lovely to be apart of their special celebrations. They both have been part of my life from being a child and even travelled to Cyprus to be apart of our wedding.

Such a great loss for a wonderful family, Michael you will be truly missed by all your friends and family.

My lasting impression of Michael is one of warmth. He had an easy going friendly open honesty about him that made me instantly like him. I feel very sad that he is no longer here enjoying life and planning things with his lovely wife Angela.

Definately a shining star!!!!

I know from first hand experience that Mick would go out of his way to help others. In need of a new job, I asked Mick if he knew of anything. Within weeks we were in London starting on the 15-month restoration of an old music hall. During our time working (and part living) together I witnessed many times Mick’s interest in others and willingness to help anyone who showed willing. This, alongside his craftmanship and dedication to getting the job done made him a top site manager, respected by all. He had a great professional affinity with Valdas, who was one of the first guys on the job and who went on to become possibly the only Lithuanian joiner in London with a rasping Yorkshire accent.
Mick was in his element showing the local primary school kids around the crumbling old building. He had them spellbound as he magically turned new timber into old using only a teabag. Their teacher was quite impressed too and said that Mick was like a “Yorkshire Clint Eastwood”. Naturally, someone printed out a picture of the American Clint and stuck it on Mick’s cabin door, where it stayed for months, sometimes to the puzzlement of visitors in suits.
Love and condolences also from my partner Paula and daughter Rebekka who were always made to feel more than welcome when visiting. Mick and I were related through our Mums and he and Angela visited my Mum regularly, which was greatly appreciated. As was the fact that when Harry Kane scored on his debut against Lithuania I was at Wembley alongside Valdas and his two sons.
So once again Mick, cheers.

I worked along side mick on the 2nd phase at Aneleys on the chatsworth house project, mick was a really great guy to work along with, we had many great laughs together, and he was genuinely a friend, as well as a work colleague, always had a great smile on his face and a laugh to follow, will miss him.

As well as being connected through family, Michael came to fit new windows in our house when we were newly married. Then and always he was a cheerful, hardworking, can-do sort of guy. Sending love to Angela, his family and the many who will miss him x

Condolences Angela to you and your family, so sorry to hear of Michaels passing, far too soon! I have many happy family memories spent with you both and the boys, lots of holidays and such fun times because Michael was such a fun loving, funny guy, remember camping in France and it rained for most of it but we still had a brilliant time, best wishes xx

So sorry to hear about Michael. He was such a lovely lad (man) . Always did all my joinery carpenter jobs . Such exceptional work always with fun and laughter along the way. A well liked and loved local lad. Will be missed by so many people RIP Michael xxx

Michael was a lovely man, very charismatic and funny. Always had time for a chat and I enjoyed going to see him and Angela on my extended lunch breaks from work, to sample their delights at the Dough and Deli, and to catch up on life! Will never forget him sending me to the shop in Woodthorpe to buy him some Kaliber (non-alcoholic beer) at the age of 19...and I was sent away as I didn't have ID...for non-alcoholic beer 🤣 we all had a good giggle. Uncle Michael, You was such an Amazing, Kind, Caring & funny uncle. Nothing was any trouble.
I remember you doing your first house at Clayton up & every time I visited you’d done more DIY.

Michael. I have such fond memories of you as my father-in-law for nearly 14 years. Taking me on my first ever (and only!) motorbike ride on the back of your beloved Triumph, after a lovely family walk in Pickering one Spring. And when you both came to visit Kris and I in Australia, we had the best time exploring Melbourne with you. And not forgetting the endless amount of DIY you’ve helped us with over the years! Your ability to fix and build absolutely anything, always amazed me.

You took an active role in our lives - calling each week to just ‘check-in’. You had genuine interest and care for me as your daughter-in-law of which I’m so grateful for. I’ll always be so glad you got to meet your 2nd grandson and experience those newborn cuddles with Rudy.

We’ll talk of you often, and remember you always.

Angela and Michael were the 1st people that we talked to when we moved to Sheriff Hutton. They both made us feel welcome and straight away we knew we’d made some friends. We’ve had some fun times and if it wasn’t for them and Bailey we wouldn’t have our Teddy!
Bailey and Ted must of had the same body clock as whenever Dave or I was out with Ted, Michael was out with Bailey. We always chatted and loved hearing about how the camper van was coming on and family news.
We said we would get away sometime as we’d just bought a caravan!
We are so shocked to hear the sad news about Michael. He was a lovely, down to earth man and taken too soon.
