In loving memory of Joyce Lilian Jones who sadly passed away on 20th March 2021:

Joyce was the second oldest out of 5 siblings , and lived in Fraser Street Bedminster , moving to Marksbury Road Bristol and then to Vicarage Road, and finally to live with her son Roger, wife Judie and grandchildren Martin and Becky.
In the early days Joyce’s family had a fruit and vegetable business and would sell fruit and veg from a cart pulled by Ginger the horse. Joyce would look after younger members of the family while her sister and brothers helped with the family business. Joyce moved on to work in Wills tobacco factory and then worked in a nursery in Vicarage Road , where she was a popular member of staff. Joyce also worked on home help for many years. As time moved on Joyce loved involving herself in scouts and helped her sister Jean, and niece with scouts in Bedminster. She would enjoy family holidays to Weymouth , especially to Bowleaze Cove with extended family. Joyce loved watching the carnival go past our house in Burnham on Sea, wrapped in blankets sat with Joy, enjoying the show, every year they would be there, and looked forward to it every year. Joyce was widowed young , but never remarried again and stayed devoted to her late husband Dennis, recalling many happy memories to us over the years. Joyce lived with her son and family for a happy and amazing 25 years, joining the house not long after Rogers wedding to Judie. Always remembered and never forgotten our own little gem in life.

Nanny Joyce.
I have so many fond memories with you. The time you would take me up church road shopping and to St. George’s park, making bread and butter pudding and rock cakes.
Holidays in Weymouth and how you used to give me a pound for some sweets.
The stories of ginger the horse and the stories from your time in wills , the chocolate factory and the nursery.

Joyce was lovely full of so much joy and love for her family. Growing up she told me so many stories about her life and gave me so much joy to hear them. Will always remember the story about wills and ginger. I will fondly remember our summers playing ludo monopoly and cards games. And whenever she gave me pocket money it was between always 'between you me and the lamppost'. These memories i will treasure for life gone but never forgotten xxx
