In loving memory of Mark Rushford who sadly passed away on 24th March 2021, aged 44 years.

Today we said good bye to the Best Husband, Son, Brother and Friend I have ever know.

He was the kindest, most generous, funniest and sarcastic person I have ever know.

He had a wicked sense of humour and absolutely no shame as some of his many fancy dress outfits will confirm LOL. We all have a funny story about Mark and lots of great memories that will live on forever.

I will love and miss you forever baby xxxxx

I still remember the very first day I met Mark, I interviewed him for a job working for Boots. I instantly clicked with him. He then worked for me for a number of years. We became good friends over theses years . Every day I used to love looking in his lunch box, as this had some amount of food in it. I would ask him daily for a biscuit or one sandwich, but he would never share anything, as Mark loved his food. He used to tell me that he needed all his strength, as he cycled everyday from Runtherglen to Coatbridge. I still can’t believe he done that every day and was never late. Mark was and still is one of the best colleagues I have had the privilege of working with.

Once me and and Mark stopped working together, we would meet up and go out for lots of cocktails & food. We were regulars and big fans of the Drifwood pub and would spend hours in there talking about everything and everyone. He talked a lot about Claire and how wonderful she was, It was so lovely to see him so happy. We would drink and dance the nights away, as well as him encouraging me to bet on the horses, that I always lost money on.

Mark was the most incredible person I have had the privilege of knowing. His humour and graciousness will be sorely missed. I’ll forever treasure our memories together. You’ll forever have a place in my heart. Rest easy lovely! Xx

When I first met Mark it took me about a day to tune into his strong Glaswegian accent! and I am sure as the years went on and the more I saw him it got stronger.
Jonathan and I have shared lot of lovely memories - I will always remember he was the only one who came to our wedding dressed in a kilt and sporran! Quite the talk of the day!
Another good memory that we have is visiting Mark and Claire in Glasgow and doing the "Aliens" tour which was so scary! Never seen grown men run about so fast.
Jonathan enjoyed Mark's stag do (probably as he beat him at poker! lol) for Mark's little tantrum on the golf course when he realised that he was not winning and through his club on the floor.
We have so many great memories that we have shared and he will be missed and he fought so bravely for over two years.
R.I.P in Mark and you know we will look after Claire for you. xxx

I first met Mark about 25 years ago and we hit it off straight away. We had a very similar sense of humour and pretty much every Friday and Saturday night was spent in the garage. Then every Sunday was spent in The Hall, pints and pool which funnily enough led to many a Sunday night in the Garage! A little nod of the head by either of us in the direction of our favourite club and the decision was made.

Thursday night 5s was a joy if Mark was in your team, or a chore if you were trying to score into him. Then we discovered golf. Mark had the laziest swing in the world but the most consistent! His short game was atrocious though!. Everything Mark did, he did it in a relaxed yet joyful way and he made it impossible not to enjoy yourself when you were with him.

I was lucky enough to have known Mark and even more fortunate to have called him one of my best friends. The world is a little bit emptier without him.

Love you big guy.

In loving memory of Mark, a kinder more lovely gentleman you could not meet. He was an easygoing guy but had a great sense of fun! Meeting Claire, the love of his life & apple of his eye completed him. Watching you together was a joy to see, the affection & fun you shared was so genuine. He deserved a lifetime of happiness but was truly brave in the face of the unimaginable. He will be so missed xxx
