Uncle John you will be truely missed.You were always smiling.You were always so strong.I will watch over the family you left behind.R.I.P.

What do you say when you haven’t seen someone in forty years... but I can still hear your voice, and see you in my mind’s eye as clear as day! I remember you John with great fondness as a big, handsome man, who stood proud and walked tall. You were a brilliant dad to your girls, witty and wise at the same time. You loved your music and your sport. If today is the day that I saw you for the last time, you are striding down your garden path with a bag of golf clubs slung over your shoulder: just nipping off for a round of golf. May the sun shine and a gentle breeze take you to walk the greens in heaven John. God rest you and God bless your lovely family, left behind but in the comfort of knowing that you will be watching over them with a twinkle in your eye. Farewell John,

A gentle giant who will be dearly missed by all, a pleasure and an honour to have grown up around you. Many fond memories over the years and lots of laughs but I will always remember you bouncing through our door shouting "Ayup Sam". RIP Smithy!

I have known you since I was a wee lass as we all lived on the same street and played with your girls Debs and Karen and your love of Golf. You have left behind a big whole in there lives and they will continue to make you proud. Sleep tight now John.

Don't think i'll ever get over the tremendous amount of grief of losing someone as loving and as intelligent as my grandfather. I still remember every bit of advice and wisdom you've handed to me and I've grown into a better person because of it.
