Philip Frederick Hills (12 Sep 1951 - 5 Mar 2021)

Phil our dear brother in law many fond memories we have shared. You were one of a kind with your parchment and quill, stuffed hearts, indecent exposure and espadrilles. With your kindness, warmth, humour and stupidity. You always had a story to tell that made us smile. But the most important one was having you in our lives. You will be missed forever in hearts.

At the Albert Hall with the RK mob dancing to the Four Tops and going berserk.

Him driving us both to work and scaring the living daylights out of me soon after he passed his test.

Playing football for RK and Albatross.. what he lacked in skill he more than made for it in his love and zeal for the game.

We are all poorer for his passing Spencer, but we can look back and enjoy the memories, I could dine out every night for a year on stories of the earlier 1970s.

Farewell, adieu, au revoir Phil Hills, it was always fun, lots of laughs and a privilege to have been in your company so often for eight or nine years, when we saw each other regularly. Life moved on and we both got married and had families so lost contact for a while, but that was re-ignited in recent years and I am happy we got back together. You looked after me and had my back, as did Roger Painter, without the two of you I am not sure what might have happened to me, but I grateful that I had such friends around.

You saw the best in everyone and lived for today, for several years we were close and socialised a lot together, introducing me to watering holes in Hayes, including a hotel on a dead end road, where we often ended up on Sunday lunch times. The Airport Bowl was a favourite haunt, where Roger and Jimmy had a residency for TMP (Total Music Power), I think we all became apprentice DJs at some point down there. Johnnie Jones was on the door and very good about not throwing us out on a couple of occasions, I guessed that was down to you and your relationship with him, he knew we were not real trouble and the drink got the better of us occasionally 😊

Much to my shame, I managed to beat you at cards regularly and accepted possessions as a barter for gambling debts, I had your brown leather coat off you and a number of really good albums including LA Woman, sorry mate but you manned up and paid up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I also recall your car, I think a little A30 (PMY), we had a few eventful nights out in that and eventually is was left at the side of a road somewhere when it gave up. Your Mum and Dad would always welcome me into their house and treat me as one of the family, lovely people and they did that for everyone.

I have attached a picture of one of the Rankin Kuhn FC team at Denbigh road, Hounslow and of the twelve Peter, Jimmy and Wayne are with you in heaven, those I am still in contact with Julian, Paints and Wizard are all deeply saddened by your passing. Aside from Rankin Kuhn, we played together for Albatross and Townfield and were lucky enough to be on the field with players of far superior ability than we had. Chris, Julian, Alan, Paints and Jimmy from the picture plus a few others, they were good times. Outside of the football Arnie and Bowsie, like myself are going through our memories and each time we laugh, many good times Phil Hills, God bless you and one day that team will be able to play together again.

I never had a family but when I joined my husbands family Carolyne and Phil were the family i treasured Phil was caring loving kind he gave every thing he had to make family and friends happy but there's places and preciouses people in our life's we never ever forget and Phil will forever be in hearts God Bless Phil love you Sweetheart and always will. Phil & Mo

You are missed so much by so many people. It won't be the same when we come to visit the family. (Now who will make our cuppa!)
