In loving memory of Brian Michael Bridge who sadly passed away on 17th June 2015
Loving father and husband Brian Michael Bridge, age 69, was taken from us suddenly on Wednesday, 17 June 2015.
Brian was born in 1945 in Windsor to Norman and Violet Bridge. He married Jane Thompson in the 70s and they raised their three children James, Hazel and Kerry. The marriage ended in the 90s and Brian found happiness again when he married Estrellita Macias (Relly). She and her children Christine, Andre and Denise, were welcomed to the family.
Brian worked as a senior lecturer at Farnborough College of Technology, with a focus on Electrical Engineering. He was particularly known for leading orienteering and outward-bound trips for teachers and students.
Brian managed several additional interests outside teaching including running his own farm in the UK. In the 00s he and Relly achieved a lifetime dream and bought and developed a seaside retirement property and farm on the beautiful island of Palawan in the Philippines.
He was a caring grandfather to his grandchildren with whom he used to organise fun bon-fire nights and would push them on the rope swing in the garden of Sandy Bridge Farm.
He was a gentle soul with a generous heart. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, brother Graham Bridge, mother-in-law Amalia, children and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Basingstoke Crematorium on August 21. Memorial donations may be made in Brian’s name to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust (as Brian had great interest in preserving the environment) or UNICEF Philippines (as he was a keen supporter of the Palawan community).
