In loving memory of Sharon Naylar who sadly passed away on 1st February 2021, aged 51 years.

Sharon's battle with cancer sadly came to a close on the 1st February. She slipped away peacefully at home with us.

Our feelings of loss are hard to grapple with right now. The bravery and determination that she had throughout this was immense and she took comfort and strength and love and laughter from so many of you.
She was too young, too beautiful both inside and out for this to have happened, but she never let it define who she was, she loved life, she loved the outdoors and nature and most of all she loved Fin.

The funeral service for her is on Monday the 8th of March at 4 pm. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions it is just close family that will be physically attending, but the service will be streamed live on the day and available to view for 28 days afterwards, in case you have difficulties on the day. Myself, Fin, Shazzy's mum, stepdad and sister would love it if you could join us via this streaming service on the day, as we know we would have a packed chapel for Shazzy, if not for the restrictions.

Again because of restrictions, we are unable to all gather after the service to celebrate Shaz and her life and what she meant to each of us, however it was her wish that that all her friends and family get together, when restrictions allow, at Elmley Nature Reserve for music, talking, cake and walking - 4 of her favourite things! I will let you all know as soon as we can arrange that and it will be brilliant to all get together at that time to remember her and share stories.

Details of how to join the service on the 8th, via the streaming service are below.

Best wishes,
Steve and Fin

DONATIONS
It was Shazzy's wish that instead of Floral tributes she would much prefer if people made donations to either of the following two very worthy options. They were both very close to her heart. She often talked about setting up her own hedgehog sanctuary and when it comes to Elmley it is place that gave her huge pleasure and when we were there she once said it is just a place that is "good for the soul" - and it is.

For the Hedgehog Preservation Society it will help them continue their excellent work in caring for these lovely little creatures, whose numbers are in heavy decline.

For Elmley Nature Reserve donations will help maintain the habit and provide things like Owl boxes - another of Shazzy's favourite animals.

Thank you.

Firstly I would like to say a huge collective thank you to everyone for all the lovely messages for Shazzy and the support that has been shared, it is so heart warming and a true measure of what she meant to the people whose lives she touched and was in. It is of course still very hard to come to terms with the fact that she is not physically here in our lives anymore. However I wanted to re-iterate that I will be arranging a remembrance celebration for Shazzy at Elmley in due course, (with tea coffee and lots of cake, as was her wish) once restrictions and roll out of vaccines etc allow and will make sure that we give you all plenty of notice, as it will be lovely to get everyone together and share our stories and memories, to very much keep her alive in our hearts and our minds.

I also wanted to say a very very big thank you to everyone, on Shazzy's behalf, who has so kindly donated to the two causes close to her heart, The Hedgehog Preservation Society and Elmley Nature Reserve. Your generosity has raised more than £1,016 for the hedgehogs ( I know of a number of people who donated directly to them, not shown in the number above) and £464 for Elmley. This is absolutely fantastic, thank you all so much, Shaz will be smiling down knowing that peoples money will be put to good use on things that meant so much to her. I will be getting information in due course on how that money will be spent and will let you know.

Many thanks again. :O)
