Betty was a loving mother to Caroline & Robert. Grandmother to, Josh & Katie and friend to many.

Betty has been referred to as a ‘pillar of the community’ having worked in the local Spend ‘n’ Save for many years.

Betty loved to sing and passed on her talents through the generations. Known for being one of Somercotes Choral Society’s founder members.

Betty was diagnosed with dementia in her late 70’s and with the help of her loved ones was able to stay at home living independently with this awful disease, until 7 years ago. Betty moved into her more recent home at Blackwell Care Home where she made lots of new friends and gained a whole new family, in the staff, who she loved dearly. Betty’s family cannot thank the care home enough for all they have done for Betty over the last years of her life.

Betty may have lost her memories over the last few years, but the memory of Betty will stay with us all, forever. 💕
