Fond memories of my oldest cousin - sorry Mary, I know you hated being reminded of this. You were always smiling with a twinkle in your eye, just like your Dad. Love Margaret and David xx

Grandma,

I will miss you dearly, you have the best smile and your picture there is just beautiful. How we will all remember you.

I do hope we carry on making you so, so proud and you watch over us brightly, beaming with pride.

I know you never got to meet Joshua but that does not stop him from knowing all about you. I will make sure of that.

Thank you for giving me the best Nanny Pat that I could ever wish for. And being such a fantastic rock to everyone in the family.

Grandma, may you rest now and one day we will all meet again.

I love you,

Louise xxxx

A cup of tea in a china teacup, and a neatly cut ham sandwich
Playing with cousins wearing Sunday best, and sharing the toys under the stairs

It’s funny the things you remember as a kid; I remember thinking my Grandma was just like the queen.

Adventures and dancing, we could hardly keep up. An active life kept you on her toes in more ways than one.

I’m glad you got to meet our lovely daughter, I know how pleased you were for us. We’ll tell her all about you and what an amazing Grandma you were.

We missed you these last few years and will miss you forevermore.

Rest in peace Grandma, long may you dance again in the ballroom in the sky

Lots and lots of love

Steve, Janine, and Hazel

Dementia is a terribly cruel disease, it is also heartbreaking for family members to watch their relation deteriorate and forget who they and you are. So sad xx

Dearest Mum

You joined me and Dave for many Christmases and bank holidays here in Portchester, your second home. We had quite a few trips to see Pete & Chris in Denia and over the years we visited Bilbao and Barcelona, France, Cornwall, Devon, Cotswolds, Norfolk to see Alan & Shirley and Torquay to see Mary & Arthur. We travelled some miles over the years which we all enjoyed.

We will miss you so much mum. The past few years have been difficult for us all but we hope that you know we were always there for you every step of the way.

Love you forever
Pat & Dave
xx

You took me in and gave me a bed
Ironed my shirts, made sure I was fed
Cleaned up my mess and never did frown
Watched me out the door to hit the town

We watched Dirty Dancing I don't know how many times
Volume up high and both saying the lines
You were singing away with hands and feet moving
I would look over the room and see you are grooving

Most Saturday nights I would fall out the pub
Having spent all my money to get in to a club
There would only be one place I wanted to go
Is to watch you dance, lost in the moment, toe-to-toe

I'd stand at the door and watch you glide
In perfect timing with every stride
Leading your partner glamorously round the hall
Followed by a courtesy and bow by one and all

You would see me there knowing where I had been
Always asking me to join you for a spin
I'm not sure how I didn't end up on my bum
But Grandma we sure did have some fun

A few times I remember you put me to bed
I woke stripped one morning with quite the sore head
Embarrassed I would gently creep down the stairs
To a Sunday roast you had lovingly prepared

Staying with you is locked in my heart
But it has come the day that we must now part
Grandad and Pete will keep you busy without doubt
And when it comes to it, just get that slipper out

It's time to say bye now. I hope to see you once more
If our paths do cross again, I'll see you on that dance floor
Say hello to Grandad from me and tell him I miss him too
And lastly from me to you both.... I love you X
