In loving memory of John Robert Williams who sadly passed away on 22nd January 2021, aged 73 years.

David Allen donated £20 in memory of John

I have only just learned of this sad news, and have many memories of watching John play at Layer Road, including his goal in ‘77, and even had a kick about with him and the team on the pitch when I was a mascot for the U’s in the late 70s. I also have fond memories of living in the same village as John’s family, including having my first crush as a schoolboy, on his lovely daughter Jackie! My thoughts and love are with all of his family x

  • Thank you David, for your kind donation and lovely words. I never knew that you were a mascot for Colchester. And School Boy Crush, I feel flattered, I had no idea, Lindsay never said! I hope you are all ok and life is treating you kindly. Much love, always, Jackie x

  • Thank you Jim for your kind words and donation. I only ever saw Dad score once, and that was a home goal, but I was so proud, I was asked nicely by my Mum, to sit down, as it was scored at the 'wrong end!'. Kind regards, Jackie
