In loving memory of William Butterworth who sadly passed away on 1st January 2021, aged 97 Years.

William will be greatly missed.

Floral Tributes may be sent by 4.30 pm on Tuesday 9th February c/o John Weir Funeral Directors, 130 - 132 High Street, Rainham, Kent. ME8 8AR. Telephone No. 01634 373111.

William was born in Scotland and served in the Fleet Air Arm during World War 2 where he gained a passion for aircraft which he converted into a long and highly respected career mainly spent at Rochester Airport where his Scottish heritage earned him the nickname "Jock".
After his retirement William and his lifelong love, Dorothy enjoyed their time together travelling Britain and looking after a lovely garden. Sadly, Dorothy passed away in 2011 leaving William very lonely. He found new friends in the church and his immediate neighbours who were also a great comfort and support through this difficult time.
In 2019 William's health became too difficult for him to manage alone and he chose to move into a care home where his daily needs were catered for. Unfortunately William was exposed to Covid-19 before Christmas 2020 and sadly passed away on 1st January 2021. He was a gentleman of high standards and integrity and will be missed by anyone who new him.
