Karen, I loved getting to know you, although our friendship was cut short. You were there for me when I started my new role at the College, feeling a little out of sorts, you made me feel so welcome. I loved your energy, and sense of fun. I know we would have become the best of friends. Fly high lovely lady, I will miss you, Emma xxx

To Karen,
I never had the privilege to have you as a teacher but I heard so many wonderful things about you from my friends who did. Whenever I would go to the office you would always give me a warm welcome and she had such a lovely personality. You will always be truly missed and never forgotten. Rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to Karen’s family, it was a privilege to have known Karen as a colleague who was always professional and went the extra mile in her job, but she was more than a colleague she was a good friend who I will miss enormously, sleep tight xx

Message from learners to Karen Karen was such a lovely and kind person who would do anything for anyone. I remember when doing my placement I didn't want to do it and Karen talked me into doing it and told me it would be okay and that she would check on me weekly. She was so down to earth. She was full of banter when she met me on placement for our weekly meetings she always had a smile on her face which made me happy. I remember when Karen rang our mum to say how well we were both doing and how proud she was of me and my sister. She will be truly missed by everyone, she is a star shining bright in heaven watching over people. - Hannah

Karen was such a kind person , she would always check up on me to see how I was doing at my placement , I remember the chat we had on placement about how far I had come from the issues I had at my placement at the start. She was such a bubbly person who you could joke and laugh with. She was full of banter . And will be sadly missed . - Chrystal

From both staff and learners :

Karen, I will never forget you. You were there for me in the lightest times and in the darkest times. The last hug you gave me I will cherish forever and I’ll remember the last phone call you gave me when we laughed loads because the connection kept cutting out forever! What a nightmare! You’ll always have a special place in my heart and you’ll always be on my mind when I’m at university doing my child nursing because you helped me pursue it. You’re a fantastic, funny and brilliant soul who I will miss so much. RIP and have fun up there!

Karen was such a wonderful person. She would help you out in any way she could. If you put the effort in the Karen would show you the respect and put it in back.
I'll never forget the day when she pulled me over after two successful interviews with two industrial placements that I didn't want to pursue in and told me that she managed to get me a place in my dream placement, the hospital. Her smile was beaming from ear to ear. I'll never forget that smile and giggle. We were like a bunch of schoolgirls in the corridor giggling and cheering because she managed to get me a place.
She will be missed by all the college, a big hole in the system has been left by her.
Rest in peace Karen, I give my condolences go to your family and close friends.
Paige Borley.

Karen, you were and still are an amazing person, you really helped me through some tough times and we used to always have so many laughs when we’d see each other. You were a hilarious person and always made me laugh. I’m still in shock as to what’s happened, but Your memory will never be forgotten because you were such a nice person and it will be impossible to forget you.

I will never forget the kind words you said about me and how you’d always help me when I needed it. I will never forget how we laughed so much that day when you came to see me on my placement, and I will never forget you and will miss you.

Best wishes to your family, lots of love,
Samiyah Khan
