I worked with George for 12 years. He would always have time for people and have a great story to tell. He was also a very generous person. A sad loss.

George, It was a pleasure to have worked with you !
We always got it done somehow 👏
For an enduring memory it would have to be the blue Harley Davidson for me !
Oh and the Mitsubishi Warrior, god he loved that thing !

I worked with George in various government agencies from 2000 until he retired in 2017.
I have lots of different memories of George over the years, not only of work but of all the numerous hobbies that he undertook.
I was always amazed at the number of different things that he tried and he always put his heart and soul into all of them.
Like myself he was a keen motorcyclist and loved his Harley Davidson and we would talk for hours about bikes and had some ride outs too.
George was a generous man and would not hesitate to help anyone if they were in need.

Every time I see or hear a Harley I think of him.

I worked with George from 2004 to 2017 and have some fond memories of him. He was always enthusiastic about his many interests. He was a keen fisherman and had plenty of stories to tell. Often he would bring his old equipment into work and donate it to colleagues after he had upgraded to better kit. As well as fishing he participated in archery, he even went on a training course to make his own long bow. One piece of equipment that did not make it into work for donation was his bright red Ferrari Pizza Oven. He came into work one morning and was not very happy. The previous evening he had tested his new pizza oven with a supermarket pizza. However, he managed to cook the pizza with the polystyrene still underneath it! The pizza oven cooking stone was ruined. He eventually cheered up though and ordered a new pizza cooking stone for the oven. A few weeks later he came into work fuming, he had done it again, another ruined pizza stone! This time he did not order a new stone, he had thrown the Pizza oven into a skip! George came close to winning us the National Lottery Jackpot in our office lottery syndicate. 5 of his 6 numbers came up, we won about £4,000, one more number and it would have been millions! Rest in Peace George, every time I use your old fishing rods I will look up to the sky and remember you. X

I worked in the same department as George,albeit in a different part of the country,for a number of years.
His counsel on all things to do with work,life and harleys was always worth listening to,conveyed in an honest and comedic manner that gripped his audience inquisitively and always resulted in fits of laughter.

Rest in peace mate and thank you for your military and public service, which is a credit to your family
