In loving memory of Ben Jones who sadly passed away on 29th December 2020. 92 years on this planet!

Ben was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle ('nunc') and friend. Many have described him as always having a twinkle in his eye! Ben would always be there to help, was generous to others and an eternal charmer (he always made a point of asking the staff on the checkout at Sainsbury's what their name was....)

Golf was a passion throughout most of his life. He had a real creative streak too, learning to paint when he was in his 60s and even started a new jewellery making hobby when he entered his 80s.

We were gradually losing Ben to dementia, but still saw sparks of his passions and interests. Discussions on space with his son-in-law Nigel continued and his marvel at how plants in his garden grew from 'that tiny little seed' were an ongoing source of wonder for him.

He is and will continue to be hugely missed but the vast array of memories we each hold of him will be ours to cherish.

The Funeral will be held on:
January 25th at 12:15 at Mansfield Crematorium Service, Thoresby Chapel.
If you are planning to attend in person please let Ellen know as there is a strict limit. However as we anticipate that the majority will attend online this shouldn't be a problem.

Thinking of you all at this sad time. I only met Ben a few times. One was at Catherine and Dominics wedding. I remember him being a lovely jolly man. Who enjoyed dancing.
May he rest in peace.

Dearest Ben, I’ve known him over half my life - he was such a kind, gentle and fun loving man! From welcoming me into his and Flo’s house in Staffordshire ( as a scruffy student friend of Ellen’s) , to dancing at our wedding, to getting as many hugs as he could muster in later years- we all have very fond memories of him and his twinkling eyes! May he Rest In Peace xx
