In loving memory of Allan Baxter who sadly passed away on 25th December 2020 after losing his fight with cancer.
He leaves behind his wife Jean, children Scott, Nicola and Natalie, stepdaughter Lynn and 8 wonderful grandchildren.
Allan had a real zest for life and was always looking forward to his next holiday. He took great pleasure in spending hours in the kitchen cooking and then giving most of it away to whoever came to visit.
Allan had various jobs throughout his working life and spent the last 10 years working as a concierge (or the previous title of jannie which Allan preferred) at City of Glasgow College which was a perfect job for him as he was always a people person, this job presented it challenges for him but on the whole he was happy there.
He will be sadly missed for various reasons by numerous friends and family and was one of the most kind hearted generous people you could ever meet.

  • Hi Allan, Your message really made me smile. I can’t believe there is more than one Allan love Baxter, such an unusual middle name! My dad would have loved that fact, he’d have cracked a joke or two about it. Thanks for taking the time to message, all the best. Natalie

Yesterday was flag day, start of a new season at your favourite place. I hope you had the best seat in heaven to watch us unfurl the flag and bring us good luck for 22/23. Love you always 🍀💚

Life is a fruit
To be squeezed to its last drop
To love and to be loved
There is no reason to stop
Life is a dessert
To be cherished all the way
I realized all of this
Only after you passed away
There is no time to waste
In a life so sweet and savory
It is a regret that it took
Your death to teach this to me
I miss you

Missing you loads daddykins, can’t believe how long it’s been now , sometimes doesn’t feel real. I hope
We meet again one day. All my love xxxx

A year since we said a final goodbye to the most special man I ever knew and had the luck to spend a big part of my life with. I took a part of you to Celtic Park to see the paving stone Nicola, Natalie and Scott arranged for you and we also got to go shopping which you would have loved. I left a little part of you there and hope you were there in spirit to see it. We all miss you so much and speak of you often. RIP Allan in the knowledge that you are loved and missed so much by so many people. All my love, will never forget you xxxxxxxxx

Hi daddykins,

Today marks a year since I last seen you in the funeral home. It’s been so tough, I’ve missed you more than I ever imagined. I just wish you had longer with us, I’m so sad you never got to know little one, but I always speak about you and we look at your photo and shake the snow globe, I’ll always keep your memory alive, I know you made a fantastic granda to the others and I know she would have been no different it just sucks the way life turns out.
Until we meet again, save me a seat in heavens pub!!

Love and miss you so much
