In loving memory of Richard Albert Smith "Rick" who sadly passed away on the 21st of December 2020, aged 78 years.
Rick was a loving husband to Carole, a proud father to Justin and Stephen and father-in-law to Beth and Sarah, a doting grandfather to Oliver, Rupert, Pandora and Arthur, a dear brother to Valerie, Edith and Kenroy, and a friend to many others. Rick may be taken from us, but he lives on in the memories of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Cancer Research UK" or "Battersea Cats and Dogs Home." They can be sent by cheque made payable to the charity c/o Lewis Solomon Funeral Service, or on-line via this page.
Because of the current COVID restrictions, the number of people who can attend the service will be limited. If you haven't been contacted directly by a member of the family to attend, you can take part in the celebration of Rick's life online via Webcast:

Again, due to COVID restrictions, there will be no wake after the service, but we plan to have a celebration of life and plant a tree in Rick's honour - hopefully this summer - when restrictions have lifted.

I had the good fortune to be in Rick's company just twice, when my daughter married Justin and again when we shared a Christmas holiday with our children.Rick was immediately easy to embrace as family and knowing him was my honour.
