Peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on November 24th aged 76 years, Nita (Margaret). A much loved wife, mam, step mam, mother in law, nana, great nana, sister, sister in law, aunty and special friend of many. A private service will take place on Tuesday December 1st in Durham Crematorium at 3.00pm.

Prior to the cortege leaving Nita’s house there will be the opportunity to sign a condolence book before a balloon release takes place at 2.00pm. The cortege will then leave Nita’s house around 2.20pm. Family flowers only and donations in lieu if so desired to Cancer Research UK. Auntie Nita, you were such a kind, caring & funny lady! We didn’t see each other much but when we did we never stopped laughing. Thanks so much for your advice and silly chats. I will miss you.. lots of of love always. Rest in peace xxx

The best nana I could’ve ever wished for. Always there for me, Mark & Bailey. Took care of us & loved us all so well. Not sure what I’m going to do without you. Miss you so much. Hope you’re drinking vodka & partying in the sky. Love you always. Lisa xxx
