In loving memory of Joan Spurr nee Lymn , grand daughter of A W Lymn daughter of H P Lymn who sadly passed away on 14th November 2020
Joan was the eldest daughter of Harold and Bella Lymn. She was born in 1922 and grew up on Bath Street in Nottingham. Aged 7 she met her future husband Dennis Spurr who she married in 1942. They went on to have 5 children John, Elaine, Christopher, Deborah and Carol. 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Joan worked hard all of her life she and Dennis ran the family grocery shop and later greengrocers and florist on Carlton Hill and was well known as the beating heart of County Florist. She finally retired in 1997 aged 75 and left Carlton Hill after 60 years. Dennis passed away in 2004 after which Joan moved to Burton Joyce where she loved village life. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease Joan moved into a care home firstly Coppice Lodge then Acorn House where she passed away aged 98.
