Alan (Batty) Bates passed away peacefully at Sue Ryder, Leckhampton Court Hospice on the 17th November 2020, aged 63 years. Beloved Son of the late Grace and William Bates. A much loved brother to Martin, Paul, Lynette, John and Sarah, also a dear Uncle to Paul-T, Barbara, Jack, Laura and Keiran.

Alan was seen to the family as the loveable rogue, putting family and friends first. He loved his motorcycles, music and films. Always buying the latest speakers and surround sound to listen to them in the highest quality. Alan to the end was working as builder, trained as roofer. He was handy at most tasks, from electrics to flooring, he could do them all.

Alan as most would know, he loved a pint(s) of cider and could be found with friends down many of pubs round Cheltenham from his old local the now closed Sherborne pub to later on the United services club.

There's many fond memories as a family we have of Alan. I'm sure many of his friends do too. I hope in this time we reflect, we remember fondly those happy memories spent with him.
