On 4th November, Mary aged 85 years old of Colne formerly Lothersdale, died peacefully at home with her daughters after a short battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Robert, dearest Mum of Jane and Jude, much loved nana of Louise, James, Jonathan and Matthew and loving great nana of Elliah, Rupert, William, Olive, Brody, Jasper and George. We would like to thank the fantastic district nurses and Pendleside Hospice for their caring support. Due to the present circumstances a private funeral will take place on 16th November. Donations in memory of Mary will be for Pendleside Hospice in Burnley and Bowel Cancer UK.

I met Mary when Judith started at Lothersdale School and I began teaching there . I often called at the shop and a friendly welcome was guaranteed.Years later Mary and I were part of the catering team with Trish Robinson. Mary was a warm and friendly person and we enjoyed a good rapport. A lovely lady . I remember her and smile . All good wishes Jane and Jude.

Mary a beautiful lady inside and out. I can still hear her voice and see her lovely smile. I will miss our conversations, catching up on all the news and hearing about her much loved family.
