On October 27, 2020 suddenly in Airedale Hospital Winnie aged 86 years. The beloved wife of the late Barry Whitaker, loving mum of Katrina, Lorraine and Vanessa, dear mother in law of Andrew, Trevor and Steve, proud and much-loved grandma of Steven, Martin, Nathan and George, a special great grandma of Alfie and Charlie, a dear sister and sister in law and a good friend to many. Donations for Manorlands Hospice and The Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Very saddened to hear of the sudden passing of “Mrs Winnie” someone who has been part of our family’s life since we moved in to the square when we returned from Aus in 1967. A great friend to my mum she set the standard for growing old - tattoos , holidays red wine & watching meatloaf she did it all. In latter years she was part of the group that gathered on a Saturday at the cricket field for tea then adjourned to mums for a brandy in the garden or watching strictly enjoying each other’s company & friendship. Another Oxenhope character who will be sadly missed & impossible to replace . Condolences to all the family x
