Beloved husband of Pamela, passed away peacefully, aged 93, at Oak Lodge Care Home on 23rd October 2020. A testament to Stan’s tenacity and the care he received from Oak Lodge, is that he was admitted for palliative care in April 2016. A life so cheerfully lived will be cheerfully remembered. Your ever loving wife Pamela.

Much loved father of Ann, Peter, Glynis, Lydia, David, Helen, Louise and Christopher. ‘Dad’ to Bob, Jane, Snowy, Dave and Trudy. Treasured Grandad of Shaun, Sharon, Glynn, Ian, Samantha, Lucy, Charlie, Melanie, Matthew, Donna, Lisa, Rachel, Beccy, Louis, Claire, Marc, Karla, Chloe, Kirsty, Tom and Jack. Cherished Great Grandad to 38. Much loved and respected friend to many more. Aged 21 x 4 + 9 ‘Mr Regal’ will be fondly missed but never forgotten. Him down there don’t want you but Him up there has had second thoughts. God Bless, with loads of love and lots of kisses from all of us.

Funeral at Southampton Crematorium 10:45 am on Wednesday 11th November 2020. Family flowers only please. Any donations to Alzheimer’s Society c/o J. Lawrence and Sons, 17, St Denys Road SO17 2GN or online through this site.

Wonderful memories of the fun and happy times spent in my childhood with Helen, her brothers and sisters and her lovely Dad and Mum. He was such a lovely, fun person with all of us kids and always up to mischief! Many a time thrown up into the hedge, in fits of laughter, outside the house and hope you all still have the old cine camera footage!
Sincere condolences to you all on the loss of a truly wonderful man. Much love to you all and especially Pam and Helen xx

We thought of you today Dad but that is nothing new
We thought of you yesterday and days before that too
We think of you in silence, we often speak your name
All we have are memories and a picture in a frame
Your memory is a keepsake from which we’ll never part
God has you in his arms - we have you in our hearts 💕

Love Snowy and Lydia

Playing grandad one of his favourite songs “In a Monastery Garden” by Albert W Ketelbey. Edited version by Marino Van Wakeren because he enjoyed us chirping along to the birds whilst we massaged his head.

Our Grandfather kept a garden,
A garden of the heart;
He planted all the good things,
That gave our lives their start.
He turned us to the sunshine,
And he encouraged us to dream;
Fostering and nurturing the seeds of self esteem.
And then the winds and rain came,
He protected us enough;
But not too much because he knew,
We would stand up strong and tough.
He taught us right from wrong,
And shared experiences of his journey.
Giving us markers for our pathway,
To help us with our learning.
We can still meet in our special garden,
And chirp the song we used to sing.
Our hearts still joined together,
Loving memories stay deep within.

Long may your spirit live on grandad knuckle cruncher, you will be missed by many. Until we meet again blessed be xxx
