In loving memory of Peter Lloyd Roberts who sadly passed away on 24th September 2020.

Pete was born in Harare, which was then Salisbury, on the 11 July 1951 to Dulcie and David. He attended Mount Pleasant High and the university of Natal. He trained as a chartered accountant at Deloitte, Haskins and Sells.

Pete and Isobel were married in 1981 and lived in Harare until 1994 when they made the move to the UK. In recent years he has run his own accountancy practice and was well liked and respected as a friend by many of his clients.

He passed away peacefully in the early hours in ICU with family close to him. He is sadly missed by all three generations.

Peter’s funeral will be held at 11am on November 6th. Due to Covid restrictions there will be very limited numbers at the mass and sadly little opportunity to gather afterwards to farewell a truly great man. The church is setting up a remote link for as many of us to join as possible, more details to follow.

If you were considering sending flowers, and please it’s by no means obligatory, we’ve added a link to a charity instead. This group funds research into the very rare condition of PSC and his dedicated Oxford specialist is a trustee. He was always eager to give back by participating in case studies, lectures, and trials. He specifically wanted to support research.

The order of service is here if you’re joining and want to follow the service:

The funeral is on zoom, details below. The crematorium is a separate link, after the zoom one

A wonderful and generous man. I will miss visiting you and Isobel - my trips to the house might have have been tax related but I always enjoyed them, and seeing you, very much. Emily xx

Thank you for being so kind, warm and welcoming to us and for always making Grace laugh when I left her in the car for “five minutes”. I’m really sad that we didn’t actually get to live next door to you but so glad we got to know you. Caroline, Martin, Grace & Ozzie. Xxxx

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of arranging a meeting with Peter and some trustees seeking his recommendation as our Auditor. I was struck by their private comments to me later. After just one meeting they knew he was someone they were happy to be with and could trust completely.
We have known Peter much longer as someone full of human warmth and generosity of spirit.
Rest in Peace Peter and our prayers for Isobel.
.....and it’s nice to see his signature at the foot of our Year End Accounts......!

Dear Peter, we really only knew each other through the spiritual exchange that happens during the sharing in ‘Growing in Faith’ Group and during the ‘Echoes’ sessions. The Spirit shows us facets of one another and the Lord in such uplifting and inspiring ways. Thank you. May the Good Shepherd welcome you as you are born into eternal life and accompany on the ongoing journey. May He also hold close Isobel in consolation and all those who mourn.
