Paul Dumbleton (Passed away 15 Aug 2020)
In loving memory of Paul Dumbleton who sadly passed away on 15th August 2020.
Paul was born in Cringleford, Norfolk just outside of Norwich on 23rd December 1966, the first child of Iris and Ken Dumbleton. Over the next few years, the family moved from Norfolk to Sussex and then to Surrey when Paul was ten years old and he had been a resident of Croydon ever since.
Paul left school at eighteen after his A levels and for a short time worked in Sainsburys before finding an opportunity with Direct Line Insurance where he stayed for a number of years before moving on to BT. He made many friends through work and they would all regularly meet up and go for a meal to catch up.
Paul was a gentle, caring, generous man with many, many friends, he always considered others before himself and even though he had shadows of his own would always be concerned about everyone else’s welfare, and how they were doing. Along with his books, movies and music, Paul would spend time trawling the local charity shops looking for bargains, books he hadn’t read or hunt for gifts that friends or family might enjoy.
Paul was a regular visitor down to East Preston in Sussex where his mother lives, and very much enjoyed accompanying his Mum, Iris, out to lunch and meeting up with all the friends from the village. It was very much his second home away from the bustle of Croydon.
Paul passed suddenly but will always be remembered by the love of his family and many friends.
