Marie Alexander (4 Feb 1930 - 30 Sep 2020)

We did not know the day, the minute or the hour but it is upon us - the cycle of life which no man woman or child can avoid... yet knowing this does not make the pain and grief of losing a loved one any easier. My fondest memories of Aunty Birdie's sister; Aunty Marie are down at Blackpool Street (corner house) and popping over for Smiths salt and shake crisps! Aunty Marie would always buy me a Fenjal bath oil sets for Christmas and I still use Fenjal to this day! What a model woman in so many ways - too many to fit on this page. I have known Marie and the family for most of my life and grew up with Matthew and Stephen. My parents came from the same parish in Jamaica as Marie and the late Mr Alexander.

The Alexander's house was like my second home due to Marie's kind nature, patience and humbleness. I was always fed and looked after like one of her own. Marble cake and one of her homemade drinks was one my favourite treats.
Marie would always encourage me and some of the things she said will always stay with me.

My thoughts are with all of Marie's children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

The most beautiful lady inside and out.
To have the honour of being your carer for the last 4 years was an absolute pleasure.
You raised 5 amazing children, who you can tell absolutely adored you to pieces, as did we.
I was very saddened to hear the news of your passing, and I’m gutted I didn’t get a chance to say a proper goodbye with being on maternity leave.
You’ll forever be in my heart, and I will miss coming to see your beautiful smiling face every day.
