In loving memory of Beryl Kathleen Edwards who passed away peacefully on 30th September 2020 at Anya Court Care Home, Rugby, where she had been a resident for the last two years. Following a lifetime residing in the Beckenham area, Beryl made the move from London to the Midlands to be nearer to family.

Having been an evacuee during the Second World War, she attended Lycee in London and became a Chartered Secretary working for a firm of French lawyers. In addition to caring for her mother and others, she devoted much of her time to volunteering for the Alzheimer's Society. She had a love of nature, enjoying walks and drives in the countryside as well as admiring plants and birds in her fantastic garden. Beryl also loved the theatre, especially the ballet, and was an avid reader too.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Beryl I have not seen you in sixteen years; but had spoken to you, on several occasions, upon my return from New Zealand and as you had known, currently live in a sea side town, in Kent. I remember with much affection my time spent with you and Charles Tierney in Beckenham. Kent...those were the days eh Beryl?! Charles and Beryl... Rest in Peace.

Beryl was one of Brigitte (Mom) 's best friends.
They met in London in 1946 when Brigitte was studying bilingual secretarial work and Beryl had welcome her for a whole year.
They saw each other often and never stopped corresponding until Brigitte's untimely death in 1979.
Beryl expressed herself in impeccable French, right up to her old age.
Beryl's friendliness and sense of welcome were unparalleled.
What good memories we will keep of our meetings and our letter and telephone exchanges with Beryl!
We will not forget her, she remains in our hearts, may she rest in peace.

Sarah Coleman donated in memory of Beryl

The children always chose the gift of 'Wellies' donation to the RNLI as their gift from Beryl. This legacy will live on as it's now their favourite charity.
