In loving memory of Chris Dowling who sadly passed away on 24th September 2020
My husband Chris Dowling funeral is on Monday 12th October
Due to covid restrictions we can only have 30 people close family at the church
We know everyone would like to say goodbye so the only thing we can do for Chris is his last walk
We would like every single one of you to come to the house at 11:45 on Monday 12th at KT123FD and we will follow Chris in possession from the house to the church. We are allowed to do this ONLY if everyone respects that we have to do it within covid guidelines - people walk in groups of no more than 6 AND 2M apart
Myself and the family want everyone to be part of this walk - all his musician friends and any one else who like to say goodbye
Lets give him a send off and sing his songs all the way to the church, to all his musician friends bring your guitars, shakers, harmonica or tambourine, let's give it our all.
Once we get to the church family will go inside. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON CHURCH GROUNDS - other than the 30 family members that can attend the church service, no one is allowed to stand in the church cark park due to Covid regulations, I'm so sorry but you will have to disperse , as we reach the church grounds please, for Chris funeral to go ahead. The church service will be livestreamed on Facebook Live via St Erconwald's facebook page.
There is no dress code, wear what ever you are happiest in.
After the church service we go onto South West Middlesex Crematorium. As we can't have the funeral he would of wanted it will be live streamed. you can log onto the service with these detail for the cremation service at 2.40

Because of the difficult times due to Covid next year when things are different we are going to have a huge memorial full of music and love

In the 80's I was playing at QUEEN's apres gig party at the Marbella Club.this guy came up to me and starts on about the music biz...months later we formed the CRUISERS a take no prisoners 4 man combo that would last 3-4 years on the Costa Del Plenty from Malaga-Marbella-San Pedro-Horrormelinos to Estepona. We played some rychus gigs and those memories are his legacy for me...gracias and adios amigo mio..Leith.

I only met Chris a few time’s but that’s jus it , you didn’t need to really one more than one meeting to feel the enormous impact this man left on you with his amazing music talent and incredible sense of humour

I first met Chris when I ran the Downshire arms in Bracknell.he came along with Steve smiley banard and there two guitars and changed the pub.
Chris played in every pub I had after that helping me make my black book of live musicians that also played for me.
The red lion in Wokingham was my favourite as Chris and the rest of what’s next could play in a four piece band as I had the license and believe what’s next recorded there first album there,Chris,flick,smiley and Johnny made every gig special.
Chris always kept in contact with me even after my pub career ended and was always the honest,real,amazing friend that he had been for over 25 years.
He will be missed but he will always be remembered for all the good he did for family,music,friends,pubs,live music and everyone that had the pleasure of his presence.
Rest in peace the human juke box and as we all come to terms with your passing the passion your shared with so many about music will live with each and everyone of us forever mate.x
