Sorry to here of Colin's crossing the bar. Deepest sympathy to Beth and has family. He was a long standing member of the Old Calendonia Artificers Apprentices Association of which he was rightly proud of his service as an Artifcer in the Royal Navy . His anchor finally dropped he will be with fellow with tiffs, while those who remain will remember him

Hi All
I have just heard that we have lost another Trog
Colin Smith has sadly passed away. His son left a message on my 'phone which I only got last night.
I will contact him and keep you all advised.
We all remember Colin as one of the founders of the Trogs, always good company and a very considerate player.
His catch phrase was that "Aiming" should never be mentioned as it was not in the Trog rules and certainly not practised.
We have missed him recently as his arthritis made it impossible to continue playing. However, his name and presence was always there.
I'm sure you will all join me in giving our sincere condolences to Beth and all the family.
Ernie

Hi Ernie
Sad to hear this news. Enjoyed playing with him. Shame he couldn’t in recent years.
Keep me posted please
Mike Carr

Hi Ernie
That is sad news, I always enjoyed playing with Colin, he was always good company and told me Of his many adventures in the navy. Yes he will be missed.
Eirwyn Davies

Hi Ernie, sad news indeed. Avril used to see him very regularly in Waitrose and had said to me about the deterioration in his health and having to use an electric buggy to get around. Beth is also in very poor health and Colin was, to all intents and purposes, her carer so don't know what will happen to her. As you say, condolences to his family.

Another sad loss of a chum and gentleman
Tom Berry

This is really sad news.
Colin was great company and as you say, played an important role in the formation of the Trogs.
Please can you pass on our condolences to Beth and keep us advised of arrangements.
Thank you so much for letting us know and let’s speak later about a memorial plaque for Colin
We will make sure the staff are told.
Take care
Kind regards
Grahame and Sue Phillips (Owners of Tournebury Golf)

Unfortunately, many of the Trogs today didn't know your dad and six of the group 'photo are no longer with us but they are all aware how well thought of he is.
Ernie
