I’m very sad to hear of Auntie Carol’s passing, may she rest in peace. I always felt an affinity with my aunt and felt her support for me and my family. She was very encouraging of my PhD studies, sending me cards and cheques at every milestone and I knew she was very proud of me. She was equally encouraging towards Hisham and Omar. For a long time she lived near us and we’d see her nearly every weekend for a cup of tea and a chat on a Sunday afternoon, then after she moved it became visits and telephone calls. We will miss her a lot. My thoughts are with Tracey and Paul and their families who will also feel this loss greatly. Sending you lots of love xxx

You were such a kind, wonderful soul and I am so proud that you were my mam. As well as a wonderful mother, you were a wonderful grandmother to Emelie who reminds me so much of you. Carol was a such a wonderful person, someone who always made us feel so welcome whenever we were in her company. I always remember Carol cooking some amazing meals for us in Newcastle, Alex and I never went hungry:-)) RIP G&J xxx
