It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Bill on the 2nd August 2020.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Maureen, his children and their partners Phil & Nicola, Gary & Melanie and Lyndsay & Chris and his grandchildren Shannon, Philip Jnr, Oliver, Freya, George & Lucas.

Although it’s difficult to sum Bill up without writing a book(!!) it’s suffice to say he lived his life to the fullest, always with a magical glint in his eye, giving 101% in everything he did and all this whilst having the knack of telling you as it was!

However, most importantly to us he was a genuine, loving and caring Husband, Dad and Grandad.

His immediate family only (attendance restricted by the current situation) will be celebrating his life by holding a mass at the Rosary Roman Catholic Church on the 11th September.

Anyone wishing to remember Bill by donating to the families chosen charity can do so by visiting his just giving page. All donations will be greatly appreciated.

Kathleen, and, Roger Tanswell donated £30 in memory of William

Remembering Bill today as it would have been his 77th birthday. (2oth Nov) I will always remember too your beautiful handwriting, and your strength.

RIP Bill. Always a pleasure to see you and Mr. Long for a chat. They don't make them like you guys anymore! I was just 19 when we met and I asked for a house to buy, and you took my word and gave me a chance and for that, I will always be thankful. Your anecdotes and invaluable advice was second to none. Best wishes to all the family. Andrew & Leigh

Bill was without doubt the most honest person that we had the absolute pleasure of dealing with. His constant guidance and professional help never wavered, always treating us with patience and respect. Bill had a wonderful sense of humour, which we will always remember.. He was someone that you can always remember as a person who you only ever had the chance to meet once in a lifetime and to find such a special person was an honour. We send our
condolences to all the family. May he rest in peace.

Bill was a wonderful character, straight talking, honest and a loyal friend. When we first became landlords in Selly Oak over 20 years ago, Bill gave us good advice and became a friend over time. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace my friend, I was very glad to have known you.

I will always smile when I think of Bill.
Lovely , straight talking man. A great character who went out of his way to help me.

He was old school , like the great films of yesteryear, they don't make them like that any more.
RIP my friend. Best wishes to all family & friends.

I will always be grateful to Bill for all that he taught me about the student letting market. He was always happy to share his knowledge and experiences on the subject. He was a straight talking man who took no nonsense from anybody. He even introduced me to Dave O'Connor !! RIP Bill. You were one of a kind.
