Ursula Enever (Passed away 6 Aug 2020)

This is just a short message about Ursula, a note about the funeral and some information on two charities we're supporting if you would like to make a donation.

Our beloved Ursula Enever sadly passed away on 6th August 2020. She was such a wonderful person its hard to sum up in a few words what she meant to us all. So many people talk about her smile, how kind, thoughtful and funny she was and also what a fantastic mum she was. As her husband I will remember how even as the end approached she was always thinking of other people before she thought of herself, wondering what the girls were up to and checking if I was OK. Even when she was spending most of her days sleeping and found conversation difficult she would somehow find the energy to whisper a thank you to the carers, nurses and doctors who came to visit her at home. I'm so grateful for the way they cared for Urs with such gentle kindness.

One thing Urs felt really strongly about was that she didn't want people to remember her as somebody who had cancer or who was ill and stuck in bed. She felt that despite everything that happened with her illness she had been very lucky in life. She'd grown up surrounded by a loving family who supported her in everything she did. She'd made friends easily from her years at school, university, in the different jobs she did, during our adventures living in Bolivia and then in our time bringing up our family in Taunton. Urs loved her two beautiful girls Eva and Heidi completely and treasured seeing them growing up to be the wonderful people they are today.

Urs wanted the girls and me to carry on enjoying our lives and that's what we're going to try to do. I know that she would have had the same hope for all her friends and family.

Ursula's funeral will take place on September 12th at the Taunton Crematorium. Its going to be a small ceremony because of Covid restrictions. I'm really sorry that means many friends and family won't be able to attend. We will find a way to share something from the day with you all after the event.

We are asking that people don't send flowers to the funeral. If you would like to make a donation then we have chosen two charities that really helped us as a family.

Staff at St Margaret's Hospice gave us great support allowing Urs to stay at home with us until the end. In particular the 24 hour helpline meant we could easily get the medical advice and treatment Urs needed whenever she needed it. There were many days that would have been much more stressful without that service.

Macmillan Cancer Support has also helped us over the years providing advice and also helping us with applications for financial support.
