In loving memory of Kerowin Butler Frew who sadly passed away on 30th July 2020

I first met Mrs Frew when she visited my primary to teach us a short play the "Pink Bowtie". I then had Mrs Frew in my 3rd year of high school. I was inspired by her to start writing poetry. After every task I did in class she would tell me to flip to the back of my jotter and let me write my poems. A poem I had wrote about the day of the dead was sent to Mrs Frew's parents after she had passed on.

Thank you so much Mrs Frew for assisting me in my poetry. I still continue to write poems all thanks to you. Rest in peace.

Ive only just found this page, so i appologise For the lateness of my condolences... mrs frew was a true inspiration to so many of my fellow students, and her living nature and absalutely amazing comments in class (such as calling herself a dragon) kept me coming to school every day i had her class, if it wasnt for mrs frew i wouldnt be alive today.... she is missed by so many and her time came too soon, my deepest condolences to her friends and family xxx

Hey Keri

Last I saw you, you were lighting up the stage in The Gran Ole Opry in fair Govan. An extrovert with a fiddle balanced with a more introverted personality sans instrument. A fine combination in my view.

We spoke only briefly that night, I didn't know you well at all, but Tam McGarvey loved you and that's as ringing an endorsement of a human being as anyone ever needed.

I hope you have found peace. Don't worry about Tam, he is surrounded by love and support.

Davie.

This was the inimitable Kerowin in 1987 at our Christmas dance. She arrived in Doc Martens and a purple metallic- skirted dress. She flew across the dance floor and loved every minute. I think of fiddle music every time I see her face. Rest well, dear ❤

You were an amazing teacher, confidante and friend. You inspired so many pupils in your care. You will be remembered for your hearty laugh, dedication and good humour. A gentle and kind soul taken far too soon. With love, your friends from Airdrie Academy
