In loving memory of John Sidney Robinson who sadly passed away on 14th July 2020. John was born on 26th March 1947 in West Malling to Nora and Don Robinson, 20 minutes before his twin brother Peter. The boys grew up in West Malling with good friends and their cousins, getting into trouble, enjoying the local countryside and climbing trees (not always successfully but in 1959 'pioneering bungee jumping without the cord').
John started work as an apprentice joiner for Davisons in 1963, where he continued to work until he joined KCC in 1973. John married Pam in 1971 and, after a few years of peace, in 1978 Louisa came screaming into their lives. The 3 lived in East Malling and spent many happy times with friends and family.
In 1992 John left East Malling and moved to Bregar where is started his relationship with Mary. John and Mary were married in 2000, and lived in Upchurch with Mary's boys until 2004.
John moved to Ditton in 2006, where he quickly settled into the community with lots of new friends around him to support him and play jokes on each other.
In 2011 John became a Grandad to Phoebe. John was immediately besotted with Phoebe and incredibly proud of her, taking his grandad duties very seriously... especially when it came to playing in mud or mischief.
Patricia became John's girlfriend in November 2011 and they spent many happy times in recent years on holidays, camper tours and corvette club outings.
In 2017 John was dealt the blow of a diagnosis of esophageal cancer. John bravely fault cancer with Patricia by his side, still living life as full as he could and managing to maintain that infamous smile right to the end.

John was always a fun and happy person, he was loved by everyone who met him, with his terrible jokes, cheeky grin and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. John spent much of his school years with some of the american airmen's kids from West Malling airfield. Their Dad's had big american Corvette cars.... and well for John that was love at first sight. John had to wait a number of years but finally he brought in, 2004, his first polo green C4 (followed by a C5 and then a C6). John's love of cars has been a lifelong passion from being in the drivers club in the 70's through to his time with the Corvette club.
John loved nature and walking in the countryside. He spent many an hour, day, week in a chilly bird hide, or on a rainy hillside. John and Pete shared a love of all things aviation, and loved spending time together watching airshows, spotting fighter jets and could hear a spitfire as soon as it was in the sky.

John lived his life in the fast lane in many ways, he had a love for life, had a heart of gold, was always surrounded by fantastic friends, love and laughter. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
