Dear Aunt Mavis.

You will be missed by all, both friends and relatives alike. I write this as your nephew of 49 years, with my earliest recollection from the mid 1970's , you teaching my Brother and I ''The Ring a Ring o Roses'' nursery rhyme. The memory remains as no other nursery rhyme entailed an activity of holding hands, walking in a circle and ending with a lowering to the floor.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for being a kind and caring Aunt, and maintaining a close relationship with my Mother (your sister) Gwendoline, through the years. You leave an emptiness in us all.

Thank you for the laughter, which I'm sure you will carry with you. I can see you now saying to Saint Peter at the pearly gates ''Are you going to let me in or what? ''.

God bless you Aunty Mavis, we will all see you on the other side.

From your nephew Lee

Mavis, you was the last of my lovely sisters. (Pat, Jean, and now you).

I miss you already.

You were taken from me and this world.

You were taken away unexpectedly. I had no time to say goodbye which hurts me very much.

I've loved you since we were at school where you protected me.

So I will say goodbye and God bless you. Love you forever.

You will always be in my thoughts and in my heart.

I am crying as I write this, but I have to let you go.

Wherever you are,  save a place for me.

Your loving sister, Gwen xx (God bless)

Dear Aunty Mavis,

Thank you for the great memories and fun banter we exchanged throughout the years.

I'm trying to mend my moms broken heart since your untimely passing. We are all still in shock and hope the grieving gradually turns into fond memories and reflections of happy times together.

I can imagine Ben resting his head on your lap right now. Reunited once again.

Goodnight aunty.

Paul x
