Kathleen Ann Beale (7 Dec 1948 - 8 Jun 2020)

Kathleen Ann Lackey was born a twin to Christine in The Avenue, Small Health in 1948 to Ted and Nellie Lackey. Her childhood was wonderful with many friends and happy memories playing on cobbled streets, playing netball at school and spending long summers in Ireland. Her faith was important to her from very early on and she dreamed of becoming a mother and having her own family. She met Chris at a furniture shop in Small Heath and her future was sealed. Kath Lackey then became Kath Beale. After they were married, they moved to Sheldon where they made lifelong friends. She worked for 40+ years at Sidney A Beale & Co Accountants as a loyal book-keeper. She retired in 2016 but continued to work for long standing clients up until 2 weeks prior to her passing.

Kath was so much fun with a real zest for life. She moved to Knowle approx. 30 years ago, and became a regular at all of the lovely boutique shops, always buying for other people and loving the bargains.
She adored her children and grandchildren, they brought her so much love and joy. Many happy memories were made on trips to the seaside with the family, rambling with friends and cooking large family meals.

Kath was delighted to discover she had a brother living in Australia and welcomed him and his family with open arms. Similarly she was overjoyed to be reunited with her daughter born to herself and Chris before they were married. She was very much loved by Chris, all her children, grandchildren, brother, sister, cousins and nephews. She enjoyed her many holidays, trips to San Francisco and cruises around the world. Her favourite places were Barbados, Sausalito, Jersey, Torquay and Castletownbere.

Kath had tons of friends and kept her best ones close to her heart, her friends and family were so very special and meant the world to her.

Kath lived the last 9 months of her life in the same kind, caring and inspirational way as she did the rest of her life, refusing to let her illness define her, never ever feeling sorry for herself. Thought out her life Kath counted her blessings.

She was truly inspirational to all who met her.

Her legacy lives on in all her children and grandchildren who will cherish her memory and spirit in their hearts forever.

A heart is not judged by how much you love but how much you are loved by others.

Due to the current pandemic and a current limit on attendees at funerals we will be having a small family service at St Augustines Church on the 14th July 2020 - There will be a celebration of her life at Nuthurst Grange, Hockley Heath from 3pm onwards, please confirm with the family if you plan to attend.
