Born in Birmingham in 1931, he was one of six children. always known as 'the middle one', During the war he was evacuated along with his sister Margie to Scropton in Derbyshire . At the age of seventeen and a half he joined the RAF and served his country for 22 years, travelling to many parts of the world including Africa, Singapore, Cyprus and Aden, to name a few. In 1954 he married Sheila and they had many postings together in UK and abroad. On leaving the air force, they settled in Wrotham Kent to bring up their two daughters. John continued to lead a active life enjoying holidays to the Greek islands and in later years, quite a few visits to New Zealand He had a love of aircraft attending many a air show over the years, and wine making, always loving a 'Glass of Red'. He was a very special man, kind, loving, always willing to help anyone and will hold a place in many a Heart.
A Loving Husband , Dad and Grandad.
Those we Love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday.

My grandad John was the most amazing grandad anyone could ever ask for, he was always making me laugh I have such great memories from all our times together that will be in my heart forever, You knew how to cheer me up when I was sad, you are so loved and so missed, you told me you were so proud of me and I will treasure that forever. Thanks for being my hero and being the best grandad anyone could ever ask for, love you so so much, make sure you have a glass of wine in your hand up there, and I’m so glad I can call a man as wonderful as you my grandad John love you ❤️

Dear Brother John
I will miss our regular conversations of the happy times and childhood memories from our past, you and I were the last remaining two of the original six siblings and at their loss we both took comfort in our enduring relationship.
As the youngest I will always remember the love and special bond that existed between us all

John always known as Dawn's dad. Was a great supporter of Hayden playing football along side his grandson Thomas. Watching them at weekends play on the field, presentation and school events. When Hayden stated he was off to America to continue his football career he gave Hayden words of encouragement which we will always cherish.
John was one of the most kind hearted persons you would ever know having such a gentle nature he will be sadly miss and our thoughts and love go out to all his family.
