Dave was such a positive, friendly, smiley, outward facing man and I feel priveliged to have known him. So so pleased we managed those bike rides earlier this year. Think of you every time up Murder Mile :-)

Such a special man - it’s hard to put into words. Perhaps a story would be better...
It was a Sunday and once again, I found myself at the back of a cycle ride with ICC broken and defeated :-) I didn’t know how to get home but needing for it to stop, I mentioned to DH that I’d had enough and would take my chances in finding my way.
This however was unacceptable to the lovely Dave who insisted on cutting his own ride short and riding me all the way back to Silsden (this was a long way). We stood outside Jackson’s where he waited with patience and kindness and without judgement while I stuffed my face with chocolate claiming that I couldn’t get up Cringles without sugar. I cycled up Cringles slower than a walker yet he said not a word, just gently matched my pace.
And that’s Dave, always on the look out to help, support, and encourage people and with so much kindness; so often putting others before himself.
What a star - he will be sorely missed.
X
