In loving memory of Rowland Painter who sadly passed away on 5th June 2020.
Rowland liked to be busy every day and in later life created models of boats, airplanes, tanks and anything war related; not surprisingly because he was a proud ex-Royal Engineer who served in Egypt before the Suez Crisis.
He continued to use his talent for engineering in many different areas. Many famous names have been produced under his watchful eye; Bovril, Marmite, Ambrosia Rice Pudding and most importantly, Double Diamond from the Allied Breweries plant in Burton.
He went on to work in many parts of the world. Places to which many of us would think twice about venturing to these days; Nigeria, Iraq, Israel, Pakistan.
He will be very much missed by his children and many grandchildren and not least of course, by his wife of nearly 70 years, Pamela.
The family have requested that there are no floral tributes please. Donations in lieu of flowers in memory of Rowland to St Giles' Hospice.
