Thinking of a kind, warm and gentle man who I once had the joy of working with, on a project to benefit others. Which is the loveliest Legacy to leave. Much love to Jenny and family from all the Hewitts xxxx

I first met Gareth when he joined Doncaster Children's Department and immediately realised he was talented. I was delighted when he later joined the Fostering Service . He made a significant contribution to the development and improvement of the service. He was interested in research and became vey knowledgeable as well as skilful; assets which were further enhanced by his wisdom and professional judgement.
He was a brilliant colleague and supportive team member with a dry wit and the lovely twinkle in his eyes always meant a good story was about to be told.
Rest in peace Gareth. It was a privilege to work with you and I will always remember you as one of the best fostering social workers I ever met.

All I can say is:
Gareth was a lovely man.l liked him immensely
It was always a pleasure to be in his company away from the stresses of work. He was witty, jovial and quick to see the funny side of life.
I am sad for.his wife Jen and his family.
He was taken from us too early, but perhaps he is in a better place, away from the awful, terrible disease from which he suffered.
God rest you.Gareth. friend, teammate and companion through a significant part of my life.
God bless Jean
