"Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found that peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life’s been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’ touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free."

It would be near impossible to find more appropriate words that summarised the life of James (Jimmy) Mason:

"To laugh, to love, to work, to play"

No day would pass without him taking a moment to bring joy or laughter to another.
Whether that be with a joke, a story, the nicknames he created for people, his singing, his sneezing, his wide collection of interesting t-shirts, his dancing (even when he was in his wheelchair!), his overuse of the word "thingy" and even sometimes just a look!

No day would pass where he wouldn't ensure that his family and friends knew he loved us.
Whether that be spoken, with a cuddle, a squeeze of the hand, a question, time taken to let us know he cared; whether in person or via phone, he made sure we knew his love was everlasting.

No working day would be faced half-heartedly as he spent his working days rising to any challenge set before him.
Whether that was spending his days traveling the world with the circus, spending days on end away from his family whilst working as a long-distance driver or waking at 5am to work at Palletline during his final years of work; he always ensured his family were provided for.

No opportunity was ever missed to play!
Whether that be living up to his wind-up merchant status, organising and attending karaoke's, watching live bands (forever Jakers' biggest fan!), going camping with his family, constantly playing with the fidget cube or even a simple game of peekaboo with his grandbabies.

"My Life’s been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’ touch."

With those and a million more memories we all hold of our Jimmy Mason, it is clear to see that our days will simply never be the same without him.

Our dear Husband, Dad, Grandad, Father in Law, Brother, Brother in law, Uncle & Friend you have no idea how much you will be missed.

Sue, James, Nicola, Sarah & Rachel & their families wish to show their appreciation for all the messages they have received.
Heartbreakingly, due to the current restrictions in place they are unable to share Jims funeral with you. However, they do invite you to share a farewell as Jim leaves his home in Erdington for the final time on Friday 22nd May at approximately 13:30

Please note: Please respect the current 2m social distancing regulations if attending the road.
Family flowers only, however two "Just Giving" pages have been set up in Jims memory for the British Heart Foundation and Stroke Association, details to donate can be found on this page.

Dad, today was the day we had to say goodbye, yet my heart wont let me believe that it's true.
I don't think I ever will.

Thank you for raising me to be the man I am.
Thank you for introducing me to the woman I love and who gave me my beautiful Daughter.
Thank you for always being there.
Thank you for being a wonderful Father.
Thank you for being you.

You will always be in my heart.

FAMILY “Like leaves on a tree we grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one"

Life may be finite but love is infinite.

It’s hard to say goodbye, it’s even harder to say goodbye to our kin.Its saying goodbye to a piece of your childhood, a piece of you heart, a piece of where you come from and no matter where you're going, a piece of who you are.

Oor Jimmy, could light up a room with laughter , full of banter , full of fun full of life and full of spirit, sometimes full of nonsense. Just like his mammy, so so much like his mammy in spirit and presence.

You lived with a full heart; your presence will be sorely missed. I wish we could be there, I wish our family, your loving wife, amazing children and their beautiful children, the strength and courage to get through their grief, but I know their world seems so empty without you in it. You will always be a part of them, in their hearts and in the very fibre of their being .

“In our DNA we carry inside us, those that came before us.”

This world will never see your likes again, a true flower of Scotland.
Until we meet again uncle jimmy, Sleep tight and at peace, with love always xx

Jimmy you was 1 in a million. Never will anyone come close to the man you was. I will forever remember you singing, cracking jokes, telling me how much you loved my mom, being loud and proud and being the life and soul where ever you was. Rest easy now Jimmy 💙 we will never forget you

Daddy, Daddy Coooool
Jimmy, Jimmy Coooool 😂😂😂

So it's seems to be, your time is up, it's time for you to go, the saddest words I have ever heard... 😥

You grew your wings and now you're gone
Leaving me here alone 💔

I literally can not find the words,
They say "times a healer" but I dont want time I just want you!

I'd give anything for one last time with you,
And I mean anything...
You really did go to soon, I still cant quite believe it but yet my heart hurts so bad 💔

I've never felt like this before, its something I cant explain, but what hurts me the most is having not been able to see you for almost 3 months prior to you passing 😓

Everything was so normal,
Eating our sunday dinner 😋
no one in a million years could ever have thought it would come to this 😱

I remember the one day on the phone to mom, she said she thought at the time this lockdown was starting to get to you, you were missing your babies 😥

We were missing you to!! 💋

So we got you involved on the video chat, I'm so grateful we had that, and you got to see and interact with Ellie-May and Ethan that one last time, they absolutely love the bones of you, as do I 🥰
people have even said Ethan looks like you an yea to be honest we can see it in a weird kind of way, so Ethan **(JAMES)** Oliver will always have a piece of you, and Ellie-May will always remember been your nurse, or your teacher, or what ever else she made you sit through (😂🙈🤣) you were always getting told off for something or other 🙊

I tried to call your phone twice the day you passed, ofcourse you didnt answer but that's a total blessing, our last conversation was great, I also called ten minutes after you passed, it was literally 5 minutes later I found out you were gone, I hesitated and hesitated and finally plucked up the courage to make the call, wish I would of done it earlier but I guess it was meant to be 💔

"Everything happens for a reason" or so they say....

But I'll never make sense of this, this crazy world we are currently living in...

Your in the best the place dad, the world is going mad! 🙄

Ellie-may looked at me a few after you left an said mommy I miss grandad and nanny 😭
But as we know she normally says nanny and grandad, but this time she said grandad 1st 🤔

It's a cruel cruel world, none of us deserve this but I just hope your at peace and I hope you have found your happy place 😇

Please look down on me,
Be the brightest star in the sky 🌠,
Shine down on me
So I know your never far 🤞
Please guide me through my darkest days
But more importantly...
Keep an eye on my babies and guide them there way 💯

We love you unconditionally, no love will ever compare 💔

I will try best to carry on, I will try my best to do you proud, I will take care of mom and your grandchildren too, although we will always feel missing with out you 😥

We will love you forever and always
We will cherish the memories we have 💙

You WILL live on forever, for you will ALWAYS be in my heart ❤

Rest in paradise 🌈💔🌈

My King 👑

My Father, My Friend, My Hero 💔

My Big Brother.....funny how you can never see the day coming when suddenly you are all that is left, I always thought you were invincible....Sadly not !You had way more than your fair share of heartache in life but always bounced back with your very unique sense of humour and sunny outlook on life.Growing up there were times  when "you drove me demented" as Mum would say and times when my heart would burst with pride that you were my big brother. There were a few years between us but you always made time for family, surprising me often by appearing at the school gate to pick me up on one of your breaks from the circus.Or the times when the convoy of circus lorries would stop at the side of the road so you could pop in for a cuppa while we were holidaying with the caravan at Seamill beach (letting the elephants out for a swim in the early hours must of really confused the tourists 😂🐘🐘🐘)The flying visits when you were driving your lorry to Scotland when you would torment the life out of Cheryl, making her late for school as you used to do to me...(Mum was so proud of you, her boy!!).As siblings often do, sometimes you annoyed me,(those were the times I would have quite happily given you "a knuckle sandwich") but also you were loved!💓💗💓 I will cherish those memories forever, the good times....Thank you for marrying the best Sis in Law in the world and for my beautiful Nieces and handsome Nephew. You live on in all our hearts, remembering the good times with a smile ...and trying to come to the realisation that we have lost you.💔💔 Sleep tight Bro.xxx
