In loving memory of Anthony Frederick Guerrier who sadly passed away on 3rd April 2020
In loving memory of our wonderful dad , grandad and great grandad Tony Guerrier senior ( Big Tone)
Taken away too early by this terrible virus.

Dad was born in 1939 an only child ,and brought up in Bermondsey , he went to Boutcher school and Bacons .
He met our mum at the age of 17 in the Montpelier arms in Queens rd ( as pointed out every time we passed it)and they married at 18 and had Tony junior ( little Tone) in 1958 , followed by me in 1963 . We lived in 2 rooms in a house in Southwark park road , moving to a new council flat behind the Blue in Bermondsey in 1966.

Dad worked very hard for us , he set up his own haulage company when we were young , working away a lot , he used to turn up half way through a weeks holiday or in the evening at a wedding after he’d finished being away on a job.
Everything he did was for mum and us .

We got evicted from our flat for having a dog ! So dad put a deposit on a house and we moved into 64 lower rd . Rotherhithe . A happy family home that we grew up in. We both bought our own houses (encouraged by our foward thinking dad to do so ) and had our own children , who were always at Nanny and grandads , they all adored my mum and dad .
Mum and dad decided to move to New Eltham , and settled there for many happy years . Again the door was always open to anyone at any time , they were the most accommodating parents and would help anyone who was in any trouble or needed a bed for a while .
The kids loved staying there , it was a happy place full of wonderful memories. How a family home should be , Sunday roasts round the big table , Christmas , Easter , any weekend really .
Dad was now driving a black taxi and mum spent her time making their house beautiful after she retired from work .
Dad took mum all around the world on fabulous holidays , they were always out socialising with family and friends , a well deserved lovely life πŸ’•

My dad was a lost soul when my mum passed away , they were part of the same person , a double act . Not complete without each other.
I know our dad will be happy back with mum , that keeps us going , the only chink of light in this awful time .

Thank you dad , you were a proper man , stood up for us , kept us safe , always provided for us all . Generous, clever , funny , laid back . Always with a story to tell that kept everyone listening. Wise and worldly . Just a proper man , they don’t make them like that any more .
Rest in peace our lovely dad , hope you and mum are happy now .

Love you always dad , until we all meet again Xxx

May eternal light shine upon you
