In loving memory of Leslie Powell who sadly passed away on 26th March 2020.

Much loved husband of Jean
Brother to Muriel
Father to Adam, Rebecca, Mark, Sarah and David
Grandfather to Leonie, Zak, Bleu and Scarlett
Brother-in-law and friend

Growing up in Pymore, Les was the youngest child to Molly. Les liked nothing more than to go out to the river, alongside the weir, losing himself in the wildlife. Muriel and Les were close companions walking to the convent school together, building their life long friendship. Les would watch Muriel’s shows with Doris Day songs as a youngster, and Muriel was always there to give him a home or a roof over his head if ever he needed it.

Les could turn his hand to most things and loved buying tools of all shapes and sizes. A kind and caring man who liked nothing better than being at home and pottering in his shed. A very untidy man but if someone asked him for a piece of wood or a specific metal part then Les could put his hand on it straight away. Les was a very sociable man who liked nothing better than a good chat.

To reflect Les love of wildlife in all its forms we have requested donations to the Jim Cronin Memorial charity, which supports the Monkey World sanctuary in the Dorset countryside.

Uncle Les leaves me with such lovely memories, with his stories and jokes, from hearing about his early exploits in Pymore to his terrible driving, all I remember of him from an early age is laughter, fun, and an ability to build almost anything. I'm sorry I didn't see so much of him in recent years, the last time was at a meal to celebrate Grandma's (Phil) 80th I believe, but I was here today online, thinking of everyone and sending love from all of us here in Bridport.
Martin (and Jodi, Gracie, Finn and Robin) xx

Anna Loasby donated £30 in memory of Leslie

Uncle Les was a delight. I adored him, he always made me laugh. We'd have a quick chat on the phone (which could last an hour!! family trait - talking) Les always looked on the positives in life and did what he could to nurture nature. He will be missed so much. A very sad day. Lots of love Anna & family.
