In loving memory of William 'Rex' Blood who sadly passed away on 27th March 2020

Rex lived a long and full life and was a true inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. He valued family above all and was an incredibly devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Great Great Grandfather.
He met his wife, Ivy of 72 years on her 21st birthday. Her mother noticed his pigeon flyer badge and got talking to him and the rest they say is history. They were married on 29th March 1947 and had been inseparable since.

Rex continued to be heavily passionate about pigeon racing and made sure all the family got stuck in. He was also an active and long-standing member of BLESMA, being their welfare officer for many years and supporting them in other ways when he was no longer in post.

Rex, most notably fought in D-Day as part of the K.O.Y.L.I 1/4 battalion and lost his arm during this time, age 19. He was immensely proud of his service and spoke of it often. A story in which his family and friends never tired of hearing.

He will be forever missed but never forgotten

Karen Gamble donated £20 in memory of William

Love & miss you always Ann Malc & their daughter Karen xxx
