In loving memory of Cecilia Whitehead who sadly passed away on 18th February 2020 . An incredibly strong and vibrant lady . What a woman , what a wife , wonderful daughter and sister . This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you .

Cecilia was a joy to know - such a dear, kind, jolly lady as well as a much valued colleague during our years together at Bird & Bird. I shall really miss you and our get-togethers since my retirement. They were great fun. Rest in peace, dear Cecilia. Sending my heartfelt sympathy to your husband and family on their sad loss and hoping that all their happy memories will bring comfort.

Remembering Cecilia today. The most kind hearted, dedicated and generous person you could hope to meet. She brought all of that as well as her great ability to her work at Bird & Bird, where we will all miss her greatly.

Cecilia was a generous and selfless person who took her greatest joy in lighting up the lives of everyone with whom she came into contact. Usually that could be achieved through nothing more than her own infectiously happy personality, although sometimes she had to resort to proffers of chocolate, with which she was always well stocked. She helped me in so many ways during my time at Bird & Bird. In particular I shall always value how she helped me with the early editions of my books by tracking down and checking references in her tremendously diligent way, and I am glad that I recorded my thanks for those efforts in those books. But it is also so little a permanent record for a wonderful person who really did make the world a better place.

If not for you, babe, I couldn't find the door
Couldn't even see the floor
I'd be sad and blue if not for you.

If not for you, baby, I'd lay awake all night
Wait for the morning light
To shine in through
But it will not be new if not for you.

If not for you, my sky would fall, rain would gather too
Without your love I'd be nowhere at all
I'd be lost if not for you

It was a great pleasure to have known Cecilia. She was a very special lady always smiling and willing to listen when you needed a chat . I am an early Bird so our paths would often cross at Waterloo Station . I saw Cecilia a number of times during her illness and she was still bright and cheery and keen to offer a listening ear. I am thinking of you at this difficult time and have you and Cecilia in my prayers and thought. With very best wishes , Clare

Cecilia was an absolute joy to work with and I am delighted that I got to know her. She always provided chocolate at any meeting and would send supplies in the internal post whenever she saw us. A lovely, bubbly person who will be sorely missed x

I first met Cecelia when we both worked at Linklaters 30 years ago. I was so delighted to see her friendly face when I first moved to Bird & Bird. She was always cheerful, helpful and could be relied upon for her chocolate supply. She will be sadly missed.
