We have nothing but the fondest memories of Derek whom we first met with Rita purely by chance on a tour of Pakistan nearly 26 years ago. Throughout this and many subsequent meetings at Glyndebourne and over meals and other excursions taken together he was the soul of extreme good nature, generosity and wisdom. He will be greatly missed by us.
