Paul and I are lighting our candle in warm and heartfelt memories of both Stanley and Valerie Derry. I worked with Valerie at Thornhill County Primary School from my very first days and years in teaching. She was a delightful person to know, it was a sheer privilege to know her, to work with her and to observe her wonderful skills and professional approaches to teaching and children’s learning. She was the very best of everything and a wonderful asset to the profession. We met Stanley through that connection. He was with her and by her always. They were a very devoted couple. Valerie also taught our daughter in her earliest years and for that too, we will always be grateful. Our sincere condolences and love spread out to all her dear family and friends. We are very sad to hear of her passing.
