In loving memory of Bruce Scott Napier who sadly passed away on 24th January 2020

Heledd Davies donated in memory of Bruce

To Sheila and family- I am so sorry to hear. Bruce was so well loved and respected. He employed me in my first post as an assistant psychologist and continued to be a steady, clear and inspiring guidance throughout my career- even when I moved from North Wales. I often find myself asking ‘What would Bruce do?’ when in a tricky or difficult situation. I (and others) have fond memories as trainees and newly qualified clinical psychologists of having to wear cowboy hats to do the obligatory line dancing at work events! Rest in peace Bruce and wishing you lots of love Sheila. Heledd (Lewis)

An absolutely lovely guy has left us far too soon. We were unable to get to the funeral but our donation should bring up the £1,000. Our love and best wishes to Sheila and family, together with the hope that we will meet you again somewhere.

My deepest condolences to Sheila and family. Bruce, may your soul rise and shine with joy wherever you are (Einstein said energy never dies; it only changes form) and may all the locks be in your favor.

I first found your boating blog back in 2009 and it was one of the blogs that lit my desire to move to Britain and live on a narrow boat. I found it harder and harder to read in the final months as the impending situation was too close to home, my having loved, lived and cared for my husband Les aboard NB Valerie while he battled through cancer. I lost him on January 24th too.

Sheila, I oversee a private FaceBook group for Widows on the Cut. It is a place one may come to to vent, find succor and strength among other women who have faced the loss of a partner or spouse whiel living on a boat. Feel free to email me if you wish to join. It is an intimate group and they have blessed me as I hope I have blessed them because no one knows the anguish of this loss like someone who has experienced it.

Because my ship has sailed from sight, it does not mean my journey ends; it only means the river bends. Blessed Be.

Bruce and Jane at Mercia Marina, August 2019. I shall always be glad that we had this one last time together. It's still hard to believe that my little brother is gone.

In memory of an inspiring man. Bruce was always a very good friend who enjoyed deep thinking and who always showed a keen sense of humour and wonderful vocabulary.

Bruce, you were an amazing colleague - a tower of strength to us all and a source of wisdom and guidance always. We had such good times organising and running the Institute of Medical and Social Care together at Bangor University - still flourishing after all these years because of the foundations you laid. On behalf of all your former colleagues and on behalf of the Williams family too - rest well my friend.
