Antoinette Mary Hume passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. As in life, she brought people together, bringing love, fun, kindness and wisdom to everyone she met.

Beloved wife of John Hume, she made every one of their days joyful. Most loved mum of Donna, Alison and Ian, and much more than Aunty Antoinette to her Wolverhampton children Jade, Matthew and Melissa, and Grandmother to Matthew’s children Tyler and Kayden. Cousin by blood, but sister by heart to Caroline, and best friend for life of Sue. Her mother, Ruth, was so proud of her.

Her determination, creativity and positivity were, and still are, infectious. All of us are heartbroken, but all of us are carrying that spirit inside of us. Every day we will seek to bring some of it to the world. Love is eternal, and keeps her with us.

We will be celebrating her life on the 12th of February. There will be a service at Duddingston Kirk in Edinburgh at 11.45am. Before hand there will be a committal at Seafield Crematorium at 11am. Following this there will be a reception at Rockville Hotel on the seafront. All are welcome, and please feel free to share with those who knew her.

We are asking for no flowers but instead donations to Maggie's centres. This is a charity that supports people with cancer and their families, that was a great help to Antoinette and all of us over the past year.

Stunned by this news. Antoinette was so full of energy and positivity. It was apparent how dedicated she was to her family here and down south and how important it was to her to support the younger generation following behind. Best wishes to the family at this difficult time.

Stunned to hear this news. Antoinette was so full of vitality and positivity and she spoke so devotedly of her family here and down south. It was clear what a leadership role she took having worked so hard and with such passion over the years. Best wishes to the family at this difficult time.
